~1930's Pink Flocked Taffeta Full-Length Dress~

Rare and beautiful mid 1930's full-length pink taffeta dress. The dress is very sculptural and features full ruched sleeves which are backed a stiff roll of padded fabric to make the sleeves stand out. There is ruching at the center of the bust as well as the sides. Several layers of fabric are gathered and wrap around the neckline from front to back.
The fabric is a berry pink taffeta embossed with velvet flowers and vines. Dress closure is via a hidden side metal zipper. The zipper is very old and unusual - it is brass covered in fabric.The skirt dips down at the front of the waist in a princess waist design. There are two heart-shaped pockets on the skirt. Very good condition.

~1950's Spanish Lace Dress~

Beautiful early 1950's full-skirted black and white tiered lace. The dress is strapless with a halter tie at the center of the bust. The center of the bodice is ruched to emphasise the bust, and there is boning for shape. The lace fabric is sewn together in bands 2" wide; this is not a solid piece of fabric. Dress closure is via a back metal zipper and a hook and eye. The dress is fully lined in matte black satin. The skirt is very full - almost a full circle. Very good condition.

Late 50's cornflower blue beaded cocktail dress. The dress features ruching at the bodice to emphasize the bust. The top of the bodice features an inset of fabric with glass beading and embroidery in a flower and vine design. Dress closure is via a back metal zipper and a hook and eye. The dress is lined in blue acetate. The skirt on the dress fits close to the body. Excellent condition.

~Late 1940's Yellow Satin Dress w/Bolero~

Pretty late 40's yellow slipper satin strapless dress with matching bolero jacket. The dress features boning in the bodice for shape, and a folded down piece of fabric at the top of the bodice. Dress closure is via a back metal zipper and a hook and eye. The bodice is lined in yellow acetate; the skirt and bolero are unlined. The bolero has short dolman sleeves with pointy turned up cuffs. The skirt on the dress is very full - more than a full circle of fabric. Excellent condition with a small nick to the left side of the upper bodice; likely where a brooch or corsage was pinned.

~1950's White Silk Taffeta Dress and Bolero w/Embroidery and Sequined Hearts~

1950's white embossed silk taffeta sleeveless dress with full skirt. This pretty dress is made from a subtly textured shimmery snow white taffeta. The fabric is embossed in a flower and vine motif. The bodice features a sweetheart neckine, above soutache embroidery and red sequin filled heart-shaped flowers. The dress is made from six panels of fabric, and is fitted with princess seaming from the tight-fitting bodice down through to the flowing skirt. There is also a matching tiny bolero jacket, made from the same taffeta fabric as the dress. The jacket is lined in red silk taffeta and comes to just below the bust line. It has two scallops at the front of the jacket on either side, underarm gussets and tailored darts at the elbows. Dress closure is via a back metal zipper and metal hook and eye. The jacket has no closures. The bodice of the dress is lined in red taffeta, there is a soft cotton lining to below hip level in the skirt, and the lower portion of the skirt in unlined.

Condition: The dress and jacket are in excellent condition. Some colour fade occurred to the sequins at the drycleaners. This lovely outfit is fresh from the drycleaners and is clean and ready to wear.

~1940's Red Suit w/Mink Collar~

Glorious post war red tissue-wool suit. Made in France, this suit is full of fine details. Jacket closure is via 5 self-covered disc buttons which fit nicely into bound button holes. The collar is a lovely soft platinum mink fur. The back of the jacket has a double peplum detail at the waist, which wraps around from side to side. There is a rhinestone-centered floral brooch designed in wool ribbon on the left side of the bodice. The skirt is a long pencil skirt with a kick pleat at the back for ease of movement. The suit is fully lined in red satin. The label reads "Tissu de Laine. Fabrique en Elbeuf France. Fraenckel & Herzog". Excellent condition with no flaws to the wool, no wear to the fur, and the rhinestones in the brooch are still brilliant.

1940's flowing 3/4 length black wool hooded cape. The cape flows from shoulder to hem - there are no slits for arm holes, nor are there pockets. The length of the cape is meant to cover most cocktail-length dresses. Cape closure is via a large black silk frog at the base of the neckline. The cape is fully lined in floral rayon in shades of brown.
Excellent condition with no flaws to the wool or to the lining. No label.

~1950's Cocktail Dress w/Bolero~

Pretty black cocktail dress with matching bolero jacket. This dress is tailored to fit close to the body and hug the figure. The dress is designed to look like a strapless dress with an overlay of gold lace and illusion netting at the bodice. The bolero jacket has no closure, 2/3 length sleeves, and features a curved front that wraps under the bust. The lace under the bodice is lovely - a muted gold tone satin with a delicate floral design in black embroidery. The label reads "Klever Klad Junior". The dress and jacket are unlined, but not see through. The flash on the shiny mannequin makes it appear this way. Excellent condition.

~1940's Dove Grey Gabardine Suit~

Lovely dove-grey gabardine mid-1940's suit. This suit is beautifully tailored, and molds to the body as though it were custom tailored for the wearer. The jacket has a single button closure, a pocket on the left breast and two welt pockets at the hip. It is quite long, and hits at the hip level. The shoulder pads give a nice profile to the suit, but are not overwhelmingly large. The collar is backed with a layer of wool fabric to ensure that it holds its shape. The original extra button is still sewn into the inside of the jacket. The pencil skirt is tight fitting and has a kick-pleat at the back. The front of the skirt has four pleats which radiate out fom the waistband. Closure is via a side metal zipper and a button at the waist band. The jacket is fully lined in a hand-set grey/green satin lining. The label reads "Eatons Clothes". The skirt is unlined, but all of the interior seams are pinked. Excellent condition.

~1950's Pink Ostritch Feather Dress~

Unique 1950's bubblegum pink cocktail dress with ostrich feather trim. The dress features a low scooped neckline at the back, and lovely ruching at the waist and bodice (reminicent of Ceil Chapman). The skirt is a tulip-shaped faux-sarong style, capped with an angled bow at the waist. The most amazing part about the dress is the trim; fluffy pink ostrich feathers which cascade from the bow at the waist and wrap around to the side panel of the skirt. Closure is via a colour-keyed metal zipper in back. The dress is fully lined in pink satin. The label reads "Daymor Original. Montreal New York".

Just lovely 1950's black cocktail dress with a twist. The body of the dress is a figure-hugging black rayon fabric, and the collar features an amazing 5-tiered cascade of icicle lace. The lace wraps around the neckline and around the back. Closure is via a colour-keyed metal zipper in back. The dress is fully lined in black satin. There is a partial paper label at the base of the zipper, but the designer is unknown.

~1950's Boucle Coat w/Fox Fur Trim~

This stunning coat features impressive fox fur trim at the collar and sleeve cuffs. Coat closure is via a large button at the top, and a hidden silk covered snap at the waist. The single large button looks like carved stone. It is translucent and captures the light beautifully. The button hole is bound. There is also a hidden button to close the coat under the fur collar and a large hook and eye to clasp the two sides of the collar together. The original spare carved stone button is still sewn into the lining. This coat is wonderfully made from a quality boucle fabric in a leopard print look weave. The coat has a slight A-line shape; close fitting at the top, and flaring slightly towards the hem. The coat is fully lined in brown coloured silky satin which is backed with a medium weight woven fabric and trimmed in braided silk piping. There are pockets on either side of the front of the coat. There is a neat sculptural look to this coat, from it's tiny set-in sleeves to its slight bell shape.
