1960's black heavy wool coat with jaguar fur collar. This beautiful 1960's coat is princess seamed to flatter the body. Closure is via 4 large black buttons down the front, with bound button holes. There are matching buttons as accents on the cuff of each sleeve. There are slash pockets hidden in the seams at the waist with decorative flaps on top. The coat is fully lined in black satin. Coat collar can be left down, or folded over for two very different looks. Condition: woool is flawless; fur trim is very soft and pliant, but has some fur loss at the edges. Perhaps a furrier could trim the collar down a bit, and it would be as good as new. The jacket is cut somewhat narrow in the shoulders and features two faux pockets on the bodice and two actual pockets at the waist. The jacket is belted with a chocolate brown suede belt and has 6 matching brown buttons down the front. The jacket is fully lined in pink satin. The skirt has no waistband and falls nicely into inverted pleats from the hip down. The skirt falls to about knee level. Closure is via a hidden side zipper and a single hook and eye. The skirt is fully lined in pink satin. The tweed is a combination of varying shades of pink, white, grey, oatmeal and brown. Condition is flawless. Lovely 1960's Burberrys/Burberry fully reversable coat. Hand-woven Shetland Tweed houndstooth fabric in shades of blue on one side. Coat reverses to a cornflower blue gabardine on the other side. Both sides have functional pockets and a full set of buttons. The sleeves are full length and feature a button down tab at the cuff. Coat closure is via 5 tortoise shell style buttons on each side in different shades to complement the two fabrics. The buttons on the tweed side are dark blue; light beige on the gabardine side. Excellent condition, with one replacement button. Labels: "Burberrys Made in England Agent: George Straith Ltd. Victoria BC Canada" Also has a fabric content label; 100% wool for the tweed side of the coat, 67% poly, 33% cotton for the gabardine side. Both of the labels are tucked away in the pockets. Jacket closure is via two large buttons which fit nicely into bound button holes, and a large metal snap between the buttons. The skirt is a pencil skirt with darts at the waist for a nice fit to the body. Skirt closure is via a side colour-keyed "Lightning" nylon zipper. The jacket and skirt are both fully lined in black satin. The fur collar frames the neckline and provides a bit of warmth. The fur is plush, and looks and feels new. Excellent condition.
